Network Engineering Technology

This WATC/ UAFS program equips students with the foundational skills necessary to design, administer, maintain, and support local and wide area networks (LANs and WANs). Graduates will be prepared for various roles, including network design, infrastructure security, incident response, inter-network communications, network monitoring, administration, and cybersecurity.

Network Engineering Technicians, also known as network architects, combine programming skills with creativity to develop robust computer networks that effectively support businesses and their employees. This program prepares students to enter the workforce as computer network support specialists and advance to network and system administrators. 

Upon successful completion of this program, students will earn a certificate of proficiency in networking technology and customer support. To qualify for a technical certificate, students will complete coursework in the following areas:

  • Wiring and Cabling
  • Electrical Circuits and Components
  • Fiber Optics
  • Cloud-Based Computing
  • Network Security
