Collaboration with UAFS
Expanding Student Opportunities
Connecting Education to the Workforce
At Peak Innovation Center, we are committed to providing students with cutting-edge, career-focused education that prepares them for the modern workforce. One of our key partnerships, with the Western Arkansas Technical Center (WATC) at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith (UAFS), enhances the learning opportunities available to students. Through this collaboration, Peak offers specialized technical training and dual-enrollment opportunities for college credit.
Since its establishment in 1998, WATC has been a leader in advanced technical education. The center helps high school juniors and seniors across 22 districts in the River Valley gain the skills and credentials they need to succeed. Over the years, nearly 10,000 students have collectively earned more than 100,000 college credit hours, jumpstarting their careers.
The collaboration between UAFS-WATC and Peak empowers students to explore career options and acquire relevant skills while still in high school.
Hands-On Learning and Career Connections
Skills that Lead to Careers
Through Peak's partnership with UAFS-WATC, students have access to career-driven programs that blend hands-on learning with real-world applications. This collaboration allows students to work directly with industry professionals and experienced UAFS faculty. By utilizing advanced technology, students gain practical skills that can open doors to competitive job opportunities and higher education paths.
Peak students enrolled in WATC programs earn both high school and college credits, saving them time and money while setting them up for continued academic success. The college credits earned at Peak seamlessly transfer to UAFS, giving students a head start on their degrees.
